Around the Corner of Your Mind

Around the Corner of Your Mind is the ninth full length CD by Mikio Mountain Castle Band based out of Los Angeles, California. All the music and lyrics were written by band leader Mikio Sankey.

Our music is called Vintage America Music utilizing the easy-going feelings and vibrations of past generations, while leaving space within each song for individual creative expressions by the solo instrumentalists. One song reaches back to the 1950’s in the days of singing on the street corners of the East Coast and is called Doo Wop Once Again. There is also one instrumental called Devoted Flame which is in the vein of what is sometimes known as World Music. The title song Around the Corner is about everyone having all the answers to life.  All an individual has to do is to expand consciousness by being able to search around the corner of his or her Mind.

Chris Wonzer and Gretje Angell sing all the lead vocals, plus the backup vocals; Paul ILL is on bass and backup vocals. Peter Assing is on tenor and soprano saxophones; Mike Albert is on lead guitar; Ronnie Ciago is on drums and percussions; and Edwing Sankey is on lead guitar on the title track Around the Corner and also When the Leaves Turn Green.
