A mountain has many sides and many facets. Mountain Castle Revisited — Sankey Brothers features a variety of original songs without concern for keeping the music within a particular genre of music. In our youth when we were growing up listening to all styles of American music, we were not aware of the strict categorization and very specific marketing of music as exists today. We were free to listen to all styles of music, mostly on AM radio and later on FM radio and vinyl records.
As we move further into a 21st century global community with a tremendously diversified listening audience, we do not have to be handicapped by that old style of thinking that an album had to be in one specific genre and marketed to a specific listening audience. The different styles of the songs in this CD are reflections of things we picked up as we were growing up and translated through our personal lens of experiences. This is merely one presentation of our style of American music. We hope you enjoy this CD.
